About the author:
My name is Deanna. I’m in my 40s. I’m married to my highschool sweetheart. I live in Windsor, Ontario.

I am mom to two rambunctious little girls. Rainbow, my little artist in training, is 10 years old, and Rocket, the mad scientist, is 8. My kids are a bit obsessed with my long hair. The youngest would still rather disassemble my dishwasher then bake cookies, the eldest lives in a world of books and coloured pencils.

I hate pink. Gender stereotypes in toys make my ears steam. I love books. I almost always wear skirts and I’m a big fan of comfy shoes. I dream about travel. I love to hike and fish, just so long as I don’t have to sleep on dirt at the end of the day. I have sleep apnea. I have really long hair, which people tend to ask me rather odd questions about. Every few years I trim a few feet off of my hair and donate it. Becoming a mother has taught me the value of being difficult.
