As I ended up posting (http://www.mapleleafmommy.com/2010/11/life-flashback-friday-thirty-some-years.html)the costume is a hand me down. It doesn't have any tags in it, so I'm guessing it was originally hand sewn. When exactly, or by who, is a mystery I wish I knew the answers to.
