There are days, and then there are days….
While our household is well beyond the screaming baby stage at this point, I can still remember all too well the times when I walked and held a crying baby, who sometimes would seem to just cry and cry no matter what I did, as I walked and rocked and walked some more.
And then there are days like today, when my children who are now 6 and 8 years old, are every bit as non-stop loud as that screaming baby in my memory.
“Now the thing about having a baby – and I can’t be the first person to have noticed this – is that thereafter you have it.” No tradesies, eh?
The line is a quote from Jean Kerr, the rather funny lady who wrote Please Don’t Eat the Daisies. Does anyone else remember watching that sitcom? I remembering watching old reruns of it when I was quite young, I think I mostly remember it because of the animated dog in the opening credits. Have any of you ever read her books?
