My Daughter’s Perfect Smile {Baby-G’s Split Lip, A Year Later}

October 8, 2012 by Deanna Tousignant 3 Comments

A year ago today Baby-G fell and cut her lip and we spent the evening in emergency getting her stitched up. This post is for those who have asked how her lip has healed. Here’s what it looks like a year later. She has a scar, not a line, but more like a ball of scar tissue on her lip.

I worry that someday my beautiful girl who smiles like sunshine, I worry someday she will think she is ugly. I worry that she will be teased.I look at them with a mother’s eyes, both of my daughters are beautiful to me. But this one, my youngest, she has the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen. A light up the room you have to smile with her smile. A perfect smile. Even with a scar to mar it. And I hope she keeps it always.

    Hi wondering how her scar looks years later? Did it ever soften some at the beginning in that first year ? Thank you, having a similar problem with my son.

    Hi! Wondering when was this and if the ball of scar tissue on your daughters lip improved as she got older? Having similar problem with my 5 year old and I’m concerned. Thanks so much.

    Hello wondering how her scar is now? Did it flatten out as time went on? How long did it take to be less noticeable? Thanks so much! Worried about my son.
