Read the Instructions First, Go Anywhere Booster Seat Review

May 26, 2014 by Deanna Tousignant Leave a Comment

I was so excited to review the Go Anywhere Booster Seat. This being my fifth child I have always seen a need for a portable high chair option and never have I found anything convenient enough or portable enough. I was also pretty excited because we are moving soon and the thought of ridding ourselves of that big bulky high chair was glorious!

I opened up the package hooked it up and plopped Baby E in the chair. He looked rather awkward so I thought I had done something wrong…I glanced over the instructions and it seemed to be done right. The height was pretty good but the straps didn’t sit right on him and he seemed to slouch down into a little ball. I abandoned the idea and thought I would try it again later in the day.

Meanwhile Mister S, my three yr old, had been dying to try it out. So I let him climb up into it and left the straps off him, as he is pretty agile. It was beautiful. Lately we have been having trouble keeping him seated during dinner and he sat nice and straight and tall. He loved it and my initial disappointment abated. Later Baby E woke up and I tried it again ….same result so I tightened the straps and abandoned it until the next day.

I really wanted to love everything about this fantastic product. It is super light weight (1.5 lbs),BPA and phthalate free, folds up small, wipes up like a dream and is so convenient! It has a zipper pouch in the bottom that you could easily put a diaper or two in and a small pack or wipes, maybe even a change of clothing. It is fantastic. I had dreams of bringing it to friends houses, family, coffee shops that don’t have high chairs….but with Baby E it  just wasn’t working.

I tried again and again, all week long and all the while Mister S was making it all his own. He took over the high chair and I abandoned hope of it working for what I originally envisioned. I thought at least I could have a preschooler that sat at dinner! That in itself was a success. But I am not one to give up so easily so I poured over reviews on the internet and re-read the package and there it was finally “do not use in children under 12 months”. Now Baby E is really a toddler at this point as he is 14 months old, so I never really thought anything of it BUT my little babe is so tiny! He still fits into his 9-12 month clothing! I had my answer, so now I could love this amazing on the go high chair after all (with dreams of him finally growing into it in a few months).

I still let Mister S use it and love that it can serve two purposes. It is so easily affordable when Baby E finally fits into it I will buy one for S! Or maybe S will just take this one over and I can get E a new one, either way it is a great product that I been waiting to find for years!
