A few days ago my two year old daughter was hanging around the kitchen driving me crazy keeping me company while I was getting lunch prepared. Knowing her third birthday is coming up I asked her what her favourite thing to eat is.
“Um, Bananas and vitamins?”
That’s your absolutely favourite thing to eat?”
“I mean if you could have anything for dinner, anything you wanted what would you have?”
“Bananas and vitamins!!”
(Once upon a time Rocket’s favourite food was bananas, she ate so many of them that I worried her obsession might be unhealthy. Lately she just likes to ask me to peel them open, and then leave them around the house for me to discover. Yum).
“Rocket, you don’t even like bananas! You keep asking mama to buy them, but you don’t eat them.”
“Can’t you think of anything else you’d rather have?”
“So you’re telling me that for your birthday dinner, when you could have absolutely anything you want, you want bananas?”
Needless to say I plan to talk her into something else before the big day, but I was amused by her bizarre demands. What’s the weirdest dinner request your little one has ever put in?
