Am I the only person in creation that wants to sleep in when on vacation? What the heck is with hotels that only serve breakfast until 9 or 10 am? I don’t want to be awake at 9am. When I roll out of bed at 11am or Noon, or hell 1pm, I want to be able to find something to eat.
This is not a dig at my recent stay at The Grand Hotel & Suites in Toronto. This is a generalized rant about every bleeping hotel I’ve stayed at, well, ever. Let’s say the place has a complimentary breakfast. If it’s a hot buffet type spread I get why they need to have limited hours, and why they wouldn’t want to leave things out past the normal window of “breakfast time”. But for a continental style breakfast, why not have it available all day? Or at least until noon? Even more so though, why have such limited hours for when I can buy made to order breakfast? For places that offer room service, I think I should still be able to order breakfast until at the very least noon. Or I should be able to go down to the onsite restaurant and order something, regardless of the time of day.
We almost never make it out of our room in time for the complimentary breakfast. I think back over the past 18 or so years of going on road trips with my husband and I can probably keep count without running out of fingers on the number of times we’ve managed to eat “for free”. I always feel rushed, and I end up feeling a bit guilty when we miss out on our complimentary breakfast again and then have to go wander around trying to find someplace to eat.

Is this just me? I mean are we seriously the only people on the planet that like to sleep in? Am I just staying at the wrong place? Is there a hotel out there that offers eggs benedict at 1pm? If any of you have ever stayed at a place that offered late breakfast I’d love to hear about it!
