I’m planning something wacky for my birthday this year. My mom is taking the kids for the weekend, but instead of heading to London or Toronto, as we usually do hubby and I are planning to stay here in Windsor and play tourist. I want to avoid just heading to all of our usual favourite spots. I want to explore and go places I would go if I was visiting Windsor, places I forget about or ignore as a local. I also need to keep this low budget, as there are some practical reasons we’re not going out of town this year. On the upside, I don’t need to pull out the luggage, make a list, or pack!

While I’m making plans for my big weekend, I want to ask you guys two important questions.
First, is this something you’d enjoy reading about? Because if it is, I’ll work on a locals guide to enjoying Windsor sort of thing, probably focusing on offbeat and vintage shops, and cool places to eat, because that’s the sort of thing that gets me giddy.
Second, do you have any tips for playing tourist in your hometown? or have any ideas for specific nifty places I should head?
I’m definitely open to suggestions, and would love to hear what you guys think!
