I have been a big fan of Simply Natural pasta sauces for several years now. I was first introduced to their Tomato and Basil and Tomato and Roasted Garlic pasta sauces after I won a Healthy Shopper prize pack a few years back. My family loved the taste, and I loved that the sauce was organic and low in sodium. It quickly because a staple in our household.
I was excited to see Simply Natural pasta sauces in the line up for this Fall’s picks from The Healthy Shopper, mainly because the selection included two flavours I’d yet to try; Fra Diavolo and Vodka cream Pasta Sauce. The Fra Diavolo was fiery hot, as expected. Unfortunately I was the only one in the family that liked to, so I’m unlikely to serve it again. Even my husband found the spiciness a bit extreme, and the kids wanted nothing to do with it. The Vodka Pasta sauce was a bit like a rose sauce. It was scrumptious, creamy and a bit decadent tasting. I pared it with chicken breast and some yolk-free eggs noodles for a fantastic dinner. My sole complaint is I’ve still yet to find a local store that stocks this flavour.
This fall I was super excited to see Costco carrying Simply Natural pasta sauces. I already find the retail pricing for the Simply Natural sauces ($3.99) to be reasonable, finding them at Costco in family sized packs for less was like hitting the jackpot. I snatched up a pack with glee. Given the way products come and go at Costco I’ve got my fingers crossed that they’ll be carrying Simply Natural sauces again when next we visit.
Simply Natural sauces are also available at grocery and health food stores across Canada, as well as online at Well.ca.
