I’ve spoken before about The Healthy Shopper. It’s a cool Canadian website that focuses on all natural, organic, healthy choices, and offers coupons for healthy products. They offer online e-coupons as well as a physical coupon book, which you should be able to find in stores across Canada. And if that doesn’t work you can always order a free copy online (you’ll just need to pay $4.50 for shipping and handling). The website also features product reviews, recipes and articles on healthy living.
The Healthy Shopper is the brain child of Andrea Donsky a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.) and Randy Boyer a life-long advocate of healthy living and eating.
These ladies have dedicated their lives to sharing the benefits of a natural and healthy lifestyle with the world, They have established themselves as respected and authoritative voices in the health and wellness communities, and have even published a book: UNJUNK YOUR JUNK FOOD, Healthy Alternatives to Conventional Snacks. Both Andrea and Randy believe you can have it all, just without the chemical additives–coined by the authors as ‘The Scary Seven’ – a list of ingredients including: High-Fructose Corn Syrup, Artificial Sweeteners, MSG, Artificial Flavors, Trans Fat, Artificial Colors, and Preservatives.
Andrea and Randy started The Healthy Shopper coupon book back in 1999, which today is distributed in more than 450 health food stores in Canada and reaches more than 250,000 people a year. To this day, it remains the only coupon book in Canada for natural and organic products.
Twice a year The Healthy Shopper highlights their picks of the season. I had a chance to check out their Fall picks for 2013. Much like their coupon book, it consists of quite the assortment of products. From yogurt to cough medicine, there’s a little bit of something for everyone here.
Oreganol from North American Herb & Spice
Kiju 100% Certified Organic Juice This was one of our favourites from the Fall picks. I love that Kiju juices are made from 100% certified organic juice blends. The flavour combinations were interesting, Pomegranate Cherry and Orange Mango. I loved that we could stray away from apple juice and have such novel flavour combinations, without it being a “fruit punch”. The girls loved these, both cut with water (the way we normally serve juice around here) and straight from the box (a super treat!).

![]() | Olympic Dairy Organic Yogurt Olympic brand yogurt was featured as a spring pick as well, which is when I originally fell head over heels for this delicious award winner. The Krema Greek style yogurt, which is this Fall’s pick, is my favourite of the bunch. If you try one item from the Fall Healthy Shopper line up, I urge you to make it this.

Simply Natural Organic Ketchup and Mustard I’ve already written a bit about how much I love Simply Natural’s tasty organic salsas and sauces. This time around I had a chance to try out their organic ketchup and mustard. Since my 3 year old has become a ketchup fanatic, I’m happy to have found this organic alternative.

Pamela’s Gluten Free Baking Mixes Due to her celiac’s disease, my mom has been on a gluten free diet for pretty much as long as I can remember. So when I received an awesome looking assortment of Pamela’s Gluten Free Baking mixes I of course sent them over to her house (and am eagerly awaiting her review).
