19 Patterns to Knit Your Own Doctor Who Scarf

September 26, 2015 by Deanna Tousignant 1 Comment

There are so many cool free Doctor Who scarf patterns out there. My knitting skills are pretty rusty, but I’m thinking I just might dig my needles out of the closet and try my hand at making one of these Doctor Who themed scarves. (I’m probably going to start with the official BBC pattern for Tom Baker’s scarf — who wouldn’t want to wear that, even if just for fun?)

Free patterns to knit Dr Who scarf.

Free Patterns to Make a Scarf the Doctor Wore:
* authentic recreation of the 4th Doctor’s original scarf
* Official BBC Enterprizes pattern for Tom Baker’s scarf
* modern take on the classic 4th Doctor scarf
* a small, or child sized, version of the fourth Doctor’s scarf
* scarf the 11th Doctor wore in Season 7 (The Snowmen)

Free Patterns to Make Other Scarves Worn on the Show:
* the scarf Rose wore in Season 2(Boomtown)
* the scarf Amy wore in Season 5 (Vampires of Venice, Vincent and the Doctor)

Free Patterns to Make a Scarf with Doctor Who Themed Designs:
* a 6th Doctor spin on the classic Tom Baker scarf
* a pin-stripped scarf worthy of the 10th Doctor
* “Police Box, Public Call” scarf
* TARDIS Logo scarf
* TARDIS patterned scarf
* another TARDIS scarf
* lacy and elegant TARDIS shawl scarf
* yet another Police Box / TARDIS scarf
* lacey Dalek patterned shawl style scarf
* Weeping Angels, TARDIS, Adipose, Bowties & More

Not free, but also very cool (sort of like bowties):
* The Name of the Doctor Double Knit Scarf, pattern is $10
* “Don’t Blink” Illusion scarf, pattern is $6

Do any of these catch your eye? Which one would you make first?

    Wow, that’s certainly a lot of patterns for Dr Who. My oldest son, an adult, would probably learn to knit for this! LOL
