Valentine’s Day Cards for Board Game Lovers

February 5, 2019 by Deanna Tousignant 1 Comment

Ok guys, I’ve got something a little oddball to share with you today; meeple Valentine’s for board gamers!

I play board games. Often. Lots of them. I also like geeky, quirky, or retro Valentines. I decided it would be fun to take a bunch of board game pieces, shoot some photos and turn them into cheesy Valentine’s Day cards.

Like these, for example:

Monkey Animeeple Valentine for Board Gamers

Sheep Valentine card from mom to child

Gamer Valentine card made with meeple.

It’s hard to find the perfect Valentine for a board gamer (aside from, you know, new games.. can never go wrong there, right?) A few years back, I was searching around the internet, looking for some board game themed Valentine’s Day cards to share with my kids and I discovered that there wasn’t much out there. So I decided to make my own cheesy meeple Valentines. With the aid of my pint-sized assistants, I took a bunch of photos of different setups my girls created using meeple, animeeple and other various board game components.

I cleaned up the photos, added some cheesy Valentine’s Day wording, and voila, meeple Valentines!

These were originally posted over on my gaming blog (hence why if you look really close you may notice an “And She Games” watermark), but since that site is now defunct, I thought I would share them here.

So there you go, over a dozen ways to say “I love you” to the gamer geek in your life. Feel free to print these, or use them to send eCards (but only for your personal non-commercial use, please).

I also ended up doing a second blog post with blank versions of these meeple photos and more, so you can add your own cheesy text if you like.
