Back in December we had the chance to see a Koba Entertainment show, Max & Ruby in the Nutcracker Suite. The girls were enchanted, and I was truly impressed. The costumes, the scenery and the dancers; everything was top notch. They had some incredibly talented performers in the troupe, who danced pieces from the Nutcrackers Ballet, each performing multiple parts throughout the show. I was genuinely awestruck by how talented these folks were to be touring in “just a kids show”. Overall I was very impressed with the performance, which was entertaining and paced just right for the audience’s age range.
So I am really quite excited that Koba Entertainment has another show rolling into Windsor at the end of February — Strawberry Shortcake Live: Follow Your Berry Own Beat, with special guest stars The Doodlebops. Now to be perfectly honest I’m not crazy about Strawberry Shortcake and I hemmed and hawed about over whether or not I wanted to take the girls to see this one, but it’s got two things going for it. First, it’s being put on by Koba Entertainment. Based solely on how fantastic Max & Ruby in the Nutcracker Suite was, I am expecting a great performance. And well, secondly, The Doodlebops are making a guest appearance. And we seriously love the Doodlebops in this household. Plus the Follow Your Berry Own Beat video clips Koba has been releasing look pretty solid.
Thinking about going? Check out the Tour Dates. Strawberry Shortcake Live is touring across Ontario in February and early March, and then the show moves into New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Strawberry and her friends (and her exciting guest stars!) will be in Windsor on Feb.21st. The show is at 6:30pm at the Chrysler Theatre, seats are still available and tickets are $25.50 each.
