The Citizen’s Environmental Alliance is hosting its yearly free day trip out to Peche Island. I am so excited about this! I have always wanted to visit Peche Island.
As I understand it, Peche Island is always open to the public, but you need a boat to get there. I know it’s full of trees and pathways. I also read that there are ruins from Hiram Walker’s summer house out there. I am so looking forward to exploring the island!
I’ve talked my mom into going and I plan to bring G-Girl and Baby-G. I think this is going to be the perfect kid friendly outing. A boat ride, beaches, trees, trails, and a picnic. What’s not to love?
I’ll be sure to write about our adventures, but I wanted to post about this ahead of time to give you all a chance to plan to come out.
So who’s joining me on an island adventure?
(Peche island Day ~ Saturday September 18th, 10am to 3pm, click here for more info).
EDIT:
We were unable to attend because I didn’t have a life jacket for the baby. They didn’t have any infant sized life jackets, so we were turned back at the boat. I was so intensely disappointed. I meant to come back and blog about it but was simply inarticulate with blah.
Hi there.. following you via GFC now; came from Blog Hop Fridaywould love a visit back at <a href="http://www.twoboysonegirlandacrazymom.comwww.twoboysonegirlandacrazymom.com<br />melanie
Hi there! This sounds like a fun trip, I'll see if Arthur and I are able to make it 🙂 On a side note, I like the new blog! I would love to be able to follow it with an RSS feed from my LJ, but trying to set that up is giving me the brain-ache – do you think you could enable the handy little RSS feed button? I believe it's under Settings somewhere, iirc. Thank you! 🙂
Thanks, it's working for me now 🙂
If you have a paid account on Live Journal you can add the feed by putting this link <a href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/MapleLeafMommy?format=xmlhttp://feeds.feedburner.com/MapleLeafMommy?format… />where it says add Feed by URL at the bottom of this pagehttp://www.livejournal.com/syn/I think. I don't have a paid account, so I wasn't able to try it out. If there's a way to add an RSS feed without a paid account, I'm not seeing it.I also added an RSS feed button to the left hand panel. Let me know what ends up working for you.I was thinking no one would be interested in an RSS feed. Happy to be proved wrong.
So, what time are you planning on going? Would you like to arrange to meet up somewhere? 🙂
I hope the weather is good for this tomorrow. I've really been looking forward to it.We should be at the docks for around 10:30, kids willing. This will be our first time attending this event. I know the first boat leaves at 10am and that the last boat to the island is at 1pm (and I think the last boat home is at 3pm), but I don't know how frequently they will be running. If you want to try and meet up, you could look for us at the marina around 10:30ish.
Ok, we will aim to meet you at the marina at 10:30. See you tomorrow!
