Making Memories with Thomas & Friends

For me I can’t think about Easter without thinking of Thomas and his friends. My daughter got her first Thomas track set as an Easter gift when when was two years old. I remember how she was so small that she fit inside the little wooden figure-eight, as she sat crossed legged on the floor. That set was the first of many Thomas pieces that the girls have gotten over the years.

Rainbow is now seven. Some days it’s hard to believe that she ever was so small. She has changed and grown so much over the past four years. However the one thing that has remained constant is how much both of my girls love making train layouts and carefully pulling Thomas and the other engines up and down the track. It’s always interesting to me to see how differently the two girls play with the same toys. The older one likes to make carefully layouts that fit on their train table, plenty of ups and downs, bridges and underpasses are a must. While Rocket is quite the engineer, her layouts refuse to be confined to one room. An ever changing obstacle course for my adult sized feet to skirt around, they spill from big sister’s bedroom, down the hallway, and into the front room.

Writing about this I’m realizing I’ve never really taken any photos of their layouts. I’m thinking I definitely have to take out the camera and snap a few pictures next time they work together to create train track from one end of the house to the other.

Do your little ones love Thomas? Do you have any photos that capture your memories of them playing with Thomas & Friends?

All Aboard for Friendship with Thomas & Friends – Photo Contest!

This spring Mattel is celebrating the connection between Thomas fans and their toys with the #ThomasandMeCanada photo contest.  All you need to do is upload a photo that shows your little engineer’s love for Thomas at thomasandfriends.com/en-ca/thomasandme and you’ll have a chance at winning a trip to the Thomas Land theme park that will be opening in Carver, MA this summer!

I don’t know about you guys but my kids would flip right out if they got to visit Thomas Land! To enter just take a photo of your little one with their favourite Thomas & Friends item, whether that’s a toy, t-shirt, backpack or book (or hunt up an old photo you took), and then upload it at www.thomasandfriends.com/en-ca/thomasandme.

Disclosure: I am a Play Advocate. As part of my affiliation with this group I receive special access to Mattel events and products. As always my words and opinions are my own.
