How Do I Take Part in The Great Canadian Blog Bash? #TGCBB

June 30, 2013 by Deanna Tousignant Leave a Comment

So you want to take part in The Great Canadian Blog Bash but you’re not sure how or where to begin? Well here’s an overview or walk through for you.

First, who is it open to?
If you’re Canadian and you blog we welcome you to take part by linking up. Even if you’re not a blogger you’ll likely enjoying browsing through the linky lists and discovering new Canadian bloggers to follow. Non-bloggers will probably particularly enjoy checking out the giveaway hop portion of The Great Canadian Blog Bash.

But it’s already started, can I still take part?
Yes! Definitely! Feel free to jump in any time from now until when it ends on July 11th.

I’m a Blogger, how do I take part?
Write a Canadian themed post, include our button and link back to tgcbb.ca. Publish your post any time from June 27th to July 11th. Once your post is live add it to the linky list for The Great Canadian Blog Bash posts.

What should your post be about?
Pretty much anything you like. Introduce yourself, tell us about your blog. Write about where you live in Canada, or somewhere in Canada you’ve always wanted to visit, or that fantastic place that you visited last week. Share your favourite family recipe, some quirky Canadian trivia or a cool Canada Day themed craft. The idea is to celebrate Canada and Canada Day, to welcome people to your blog, and to entice people to come back. The sky’s the limit. Use your imagination. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Plus a giveaway?
You are also welcome to create a separate giveaway post. There are a few rules regarding giveaways for The Great Canadian Blog Bash. Your giveaway needs to be open to Canada only, and the company sponsoring the prize MUST be Canadian. Bloggers are also welcome to sponsor their own giveaway, by which we mean you are welcome to create a giveaway where you provide the prize, such as a gift card or PayPal cash. There is a separate linky list that is just for linking up your giveaways, check it out here.

What else can you link up?
We also have separate linky hops for Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest. Link up any or all of your social media accounts, then hop around and meet some fellow Canucks.

Here’s the list of linkies, click through to head to the individual pages and link up:

Canadian Themed Posts
TGCBB Giveaways
Facebook accounts
Twitter accounts
Google+ accounts
Pinterest accounts
Canadian themed crafts & recipes (scroll down to the bottom of the page)

Please make sure to ADD our BUTTON and link back, so that everyone knows you are hopping for the The Great Canadian Blog Bash.

I’m not a Blogger, is The Great Canadian Blog Bash still for me?
Of prime interest to non-bloggers is the giveaway linky, a list of Canadian sponsored Open to Canada giveaways.  But as a non-blogger you may also enjoy browsing through the Canadian themed posts, or the craft and recipes linky, and discovering new blogs to follow.

Also, even if you don’t have a blog you are welcome to link up on the social media linkies. If you’re active on Twitter and looking to add some Canuck followers you could link up your Twitter account. If you have a Facebook fanpage, say for example for a small business, as long as it’s Canadian you are welcome to link up.

Overall…
….the point it to just have fun, read a few interesting posts, meet some new Canucks, socialize with some Canadian folk you might already know, and kick the summer off in style.

For more details you can take a look at the FAQ for the event.
