About a month ago I won a ticket to the Food Bloggers of Canada Conference. It was my birthday, we went out for dinner, got home to a late bedtime with the kiddos. Once they where finally in bed, I dropped in on the end of the Twitter party and won a conference pass. Best birthday gift ever! A full conference pass, which includes tasty meals (Hello, it’s the FOOD Bloggers conference!) and accommodations at the lovely Hockely Valley Resort. Needless to say, I was excited. Really, really, excited. I talked it over with hubby who not too long ago launched his own food based blog, and we decided to buy a second ticket so we could go together.
So this weekend we’re off on an adventure, to attend the Food Bloggers of Canada Conference. I’m excited, nervous and excited. Got that “butterflies in my tummy oh goodness I’m not ready and we leave tomorrow morning” feeling going on. You know, the pre-conference jitters. Which frankly I get every time I attend one of these events. And the fact that I’m bringing my spouse along is somehow both comforting and nerve-wracking at the same time.
I’m a little nervous because I’m not really a Food blogger persay. I’m just a mixed bag of whatever jumps into my head or happens to sound interesting when it’s sitting in my inbox. Though I would definitely like to feature recipes more often here on Maple Leaf Mommy. And I am very much looking forward to the Food Photography Workshop. In fact the entire schedule looks pretty stellar. I’ll likely tell you a bit about it when I get back. Wish me luck. And enjoy yourselves with whatever you’re up to this weekend.
