When Deanna told me that her two girls were going to be moving into a shared bedroom, I couldn’t wait to start finding ideas for girls rooms. Having three boys myself, I have to live vicariously through someone else when it comes to decorating for girls. My first question would be the bed situation. Is a 4 year old big enough for a top bunk? Or is the room big enough for 2 side by side twin beds?
If two twin beds is the choice, the key would be making the headboard wall the focal point with something bold. Like Stripes.
Or large prints, lamps, unique DIY project, wallpaper, whatever you feel up to accomplishing. Just remember, bold, big, or simple makes for a better looking room.

For bunk beds, I have seen a lot of built in custom made bunk beds, which seem really fun if you know you will not be moving. The nice part about the built ins is that you can add book shelves and lights to the upper bunk so they have a personal place to put their own things. For these rooms the focus is the bed itself and all other accessories should be simple.

Either way, don’t take it too seriously. You want to have a fun place to send them to play in when you need to get some blogging done!
