While there is plenty of talk about male hair loss, not too much is said about it’s female counterpart.
75% of new moms notice more hair shedding than normal after childbirth.
I was so intensely relieved when I read that this was normal. Thankfully hair loss was mentioned in the books I read leading up to my first daughter’s birth, or else I would have been seriously panicking a few months later when I was standing in the shower shampooing and watching as literally handfuls of hair came loose. If I hadn’t know that this was a normal postpartum issue I would have been high-tailing it to the doctor’s to ask what the heck was wrong with me.
Overall, I have always had extremely thick hair, so when it thinned out a bit post pregnancy it wasn’t a huge concern. It did fill back in a bit in the months to follow, but has never returned to the same thickness as before. For me this just means I can fit my hair in a normal ponytail holder now. For some ladies it’s a serious blow to their self esteem to find that their hair is thinning out.
That’s where NIOXIN comes in. NIOXIN was developed by a mom. It’s the #1 choice of hair stylists when they are looking to give their clients fuller, denser-looking hair.
You’ll see results of thicker-looking hair after just two weeks of using the NIOXIN System Kit. NIOXIN DiaMax is a daily leave-in treatment that increases the thickness of each hair strand by up to 4.5 per cent after one use.
I haven’t given NIOXIN a try myself, because I’m pretty happy with the thickness of my hair, but several other P&G moms have tested it out over the past month. Here’s what a few of them had to say about the experience:
Kim from Tales of a Ranting Ginger talks about how after four pregnancies her thick hair turned to thin.
Stacey from Did You Know Canada? says she loved the tingly cool feeling, and has already noticed a difference in how thick her hair looks and feels.
Jen from Mom vs The Boys confides how she was a little worried that the leave in foam would weigh her locks down or look greasy, but happily reports that she didn’t find that to be the case at all.
Oh, and as an added incentive to head over and read more about these ladies experiences with NIOXIN, I should add that each of them is hosting the same giveaway that I have below. For more chances to win be sure to go check out their posts.
