I had two fears going into this, one was that no one would donate and I’d raise a pitiful amount of money. The other was that I’d raise far too much, overshoot my $2500 goal, and end up having to cut off ALL of my hair.

So, let’s see… so far we’ve raised $550 in donations. At $100 an inch that’s 5 measly inches. The minimum length a pony tail needs to be to donate to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program is 8 inches. We haven’t even hit the minimum donation length! Folks, this is leaning towards the pitiful side of things. I think I’d rather be facing my fears of running around town looking like Sinead.
This is my hair.
This is five inches worth of my hair.
Google Analytics assures me that thousands of folks read my blog every month. Now if everyone would pony up just a wee tiny donation, like say one dollar, if everyone who stops in and reads my blog on a regular basis were to chip in one dollar towards the Canadian Cancer Society, well, that would be awesome.
Come February 12th I am going to cut off an inch of hair for every $100 raised in donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. I will be donating my hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program, where it will be used towards making wigs for cancer patients. If you’d like to support me with a pledge, you can donate directly to the Canadian Cancer Society on my page HERE.
