On our last day at Blue Mountain we spent the morning riding the gondola and hiking along the top of the mountain. After making our way back down into the village we grabbed a bite to eat and then headed over to Crock-A-Doodle where we settled in to create some one of a kind artwork. Each girl picked out a plain clay piece to paint. There were tons of different pottery pieces … [Read more...]
Riding the Open-Air Gondola and Exploring at the Top of Blue Mountain
On our last day at Blue Mountain we rode the Open-Air Gondola to the top of the mountain. I've got a bit of a fear of heights, and I quickly discovered that the gondola made me nervous. It rocks a bit, bumps a bit, and looking down the mountain as we headed upwards gave me a serious sense of vertigo. I snapped photos, smiled and hid my misgivings, because I was hoping the kids … [Read more...]

Riding on the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster ~ Unique Excitement at Blue Mountain
It was the afternoon of our second day at Blue Mountain. We had just finished up at Plunge Aquatic Centre and by this point, the littlest one was pretty tuckered out. So Mimi took her back to the hotel room for a nap, while the big kid and I decided to go check out the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster. Despite the fact that I ended up riding on it three times, I'm at a bit of a … [Read more...]
Plunge! Aquatic Centre ~ On Site Fun at Blue Mountain
On the afternoon of our second day at Blue Mountain we took in two of the on resort activities, visiting Plunge! Aquatic Centre and riding the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster. We had a BLAST at Plunge! The water was warm, the air in the indoor portion was also warm but not humid or stifling, as I often find heated indoor pools to be. High ceilings and floor to ceiling windows … [Read more...]
Scenic Caves Nature Adventures, Must See Fun at Blue Mountain
On our second day at Blue Mountain, we spent the morning at Scenic Caves. When I had mentioned to people that I was visiting Blue Mountain, over and over I was told that the one not-to-be-missed place was the Scenic Caves. And they were right. It was an amazing experience, one my girls and I won't soon forget. First we rode the Big Rock Railroad, a tractor style train which … [Read more...]
Salmon Sushi Cooked Tableside, Kikaku Sushi Bar at Blue Mountain
Back in June when we visited Blue Mountain, one of the places we had lunch at was Kikaku Sushi Bar. (Yes, my kids like to eat sushi. Love it actually.) Near the end of the meal the chief appeared at our table and created this treat right before our eyes. Using a blowtorch to sear the fish and then topping it with a sweet mango sauce. Remarkable ending to an enjoyable meal. … [Read more...]

I only wish that they were a little closer to home because I would certainly love to eat there again. … [Read more...]

X is for eXtreme eXcitement. No? How about Xanadu?
Friday I was at Blue Mountain, riding the gondola, hiking the Bruce Trail, eating sushi, painting pottery, playing in the sand, zooming down the mountain coaster, and generally seeing to it that my kids had the most eXciting first day of Summer ever. We then made our eXit and trekked the 6 hour car ride home, where we spent Saturday recouping and Sunday celebrating my MILs … [Read more...]
Blue Mountain Resort, Staying at Westin Trillium House
Right now I'm quietly chilling in a darkened hotel room while my daughters snore on a cozy sofa bed. Today we drove for about six hours to get from Windsor to Blue Mountain Resort, where my mom, my girls and I are visiting for a family orientated blogger retreat. Let's just start by saying that I knew this trip was going to rock from the get go. Everything I have seen and … [Read more...]
