My husband asked Rainbow what she would like to do to help celebrate the end of Junior Kindergarten and her good report card (I know, like anyone gets a bad report card in kindergarten!) She said she'd like to go out to a park, one with flowers. I think she had in mind one of our usual excursions to Coventry Gardens, but her father surprised her with a trip across town to check … [Read more...]
Virtual Play Date: Coventry Gardens
This is one of our favourite ways to spend the afternoon. We walk down to Pat & Hank's and buy a 3-piece fish dinner to split. And then we head to the riverfront where we have a picnic.... play in the grass, chase butterflies... and watch the big boats pass by. We speculate on whether or not there are any fish in the Detroit River.... follow the … [Read more...]

The Arts Council Windsor & Region is working together with the Riverside Library to host a series of art sales. The first is tomorrow. Our Experiences with Kindermusik
About a year ago now I was struggling with potty training Rainbow and was ready to offer her whatever form of bribery requested. We talked it over and what she wanted most was music classes. (ahem, you may remember that in particular she was fixated on learning to play the banjo). I looked around for age appropriate music classes and found there really wasn't much out there. … [Read more...]
Kindermusik Classes now Available in Windsor!
I have some exciting news to share with you: Kindermusik classes are now being offered here in Windsor! I had read up on Kindermusik a while back and thought it sounded like a fantastic program, but wasn't able to find any classes nearby. So when I recently received an email from a lady named Sue, informing me that she was offering Kindermusik classes here in Windsor, well … [Read more...]
A Day at the Apple Orchard
Rocket enjoyed exploring the playground equipment... ...and mucking about in the hay. Rainbow also enjoyed checking out the playground... ...and munching on one of the Kinder Surprise eggs I brought along as a treat. I am a Kinder Mom ambassador, and a play-date at the orchard was the perfect excuse to share some … [Read more...]

Meeting the Mighty Machines
We made it out to the Meet-A-Machine event last Saturday and it was ever so awesome. The kids had a blast. Particularly G-Girl, who got to touch and climb into all manner of vehicles. My little thirty-pounder got to perch on top of a three-hundred-pound police motorcycle, climb into the drivers seat of a smart car and open and shut the door on a school bus. All of which is … [Read more...]

{ Essex County: Local } Spring Mom2Mom Sale
This Saturday is the annual Windsor Spring Mom2Mom sale. Despite my disappointing sales experience last fall, I still think the Mom2Mom sale ROCKS. It’s the largest indoor garage sale in southwestern Ontario. It’s like over 100 different garage sales, all in one spot, and all with kids items. It is THE place to get kids clothing. 90% of what my daughters wear I have picked … [Read more...]
{ Local } Kids Clothing & Equipment Sale (in London)
The London Multiple Birth Association's annual Spring Sale is this coming weekend. I've never been, but it sounds great. I imagine it's much like the one that their counterpart association puts on here in Windsor, which I've been to in the past and rather enjoy. Let me know if you score any great deals! … [Read more...]
{ Deal Alert } If you’re into museums…
I was looking at today's Groupon deal for Windsor... $30 for a $75 family membership to the local Science Museum, Canada South Science City (valid for up to two adults and three children, regular price $75), when I came to the realization that this deal was FAR BETTER then it originally appears. Originally I was thinking, this probably isn't the best deal for me, as I … [Read more...]
Picnic Time {Wordless Wednesday}
The other day we ended up going for a short hike and a picnic. We parked on McHugh, just east of the WFCU centre and took a pedestrian tunnel under the roadway. I think this area is called McHugh Park. It's part of the Little River Corridor and it's quite lovely for someplace within the city. Me, walking with Rainbow, and wearing Baby Girl in wrap. Rainbow … [Read more...]
