Hot Wheels, Second Generation Crush

May 22, 2015 by Deanna Tousignant Leave a Comment

I remember loving Hot Wheels as a kid. In particular I remember this one car which I took with me everywhere, a shiny green Volkswagen Beetle. I loved that little car. It slept on my bed next to my pillow, and it travelled with me in the pocket of my jeans. It went missing one day. I got home from a long day of adventuring and realized my beloved Bug wasn’t with me. I remember being completely broken hearted, like shaky little four year old tears crushed.

I see my five year old with her new favourite Hot Wheels and I see me. She’s enamoured with this little motorbike which she has named Zoomy. She told me she loves him because of the way the gold bit in the centre spins when you zoom him on the hard floors. Zoomy is her pal. When we leave the house she smuggles Zoomy out in her windbreaker pocker, when we head to the park he comes along, and yesterday I caught her setting up a picnic tea party in the hallway where Zoomy was the guest of honour.

Last time we were out adventuring, she begged me to take these photos of her and Zoomy at the park.

Does your little one have a Hot Wheels crush? Do they dote on one car in particular or just love them by dozen?
